Obituary for Elmer A. Isaacson

Elmer A. Isaacson, 81, a former Mohawk resident passed away Thursday evening
(January 30, 1997) at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock where he had been a resident-patient since March 17, 1992.

He was born on June 15, 1915 in Winona, Michigan a son of Sarah & William Isaacson and moved with his parents to Ahmeek and attended the Ahmeek school.

He later moved to Mohawk in 1933 where he lived most of his life except for a few years when he resided in Waukegan, Ill. and White Pine. Since March of 1992 he was a resident-patient at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home.

He was employed as a construction foreman for Gundlach Construction, Champion Incorporated & for Mattila Construction.

On Sept. 16, 1933 he was united in marriage to Verna Hanninen in Laurium and she preceded him in death on March 12, 1993.
Also preceding him in death are
4 brothers; Rudolph, Edwin, George & Oscar
and 2 sisters; Edna & Elma.

He is a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Keweenaw.

Cheryl (Dennis) DeCovich; Oxford, Mi.

Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins

Funeral services will be held at the 11:00 Monday morning at Bethany Lutheran Church of Keweenaw with the Rev. Allen Goodrich officiating.
Spring burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.

Friends may call at the Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on Sunday from
2 to 5 and 7 to 9 and one hour prior to funeral services on Monday at the church

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorial be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church of Keweenaw
