Obituary for Paul Arthur Isaacson

Paul Isaacson 64, of Mohawk, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Marquette General Hospital.

He was born in Laurium on July 26, 1946 a son of the late Oscar and Lydia (Antikainen) Isaacson and was a graduate of Calumet High School in 1964. Paul enlisted in the United States Air force during the Vietnam War. After the service he worked briefly for Upper Power Co. before going to work at the Houghton County Airport where he worked until 1985. He then worked at Northern Hardwoods the past twenty years.

He was first married to Ann Marie Moyryla on Feb. 13, 1971 , Ann and infant son, Daniel died on November 8, 1985. He then married Donna Peterson on August 30, 1986 and the couple resided in Mohawk.

Paul was a member of the Fulton Apostolic Lutheran Church where he spoke regularly. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 230 of Mohawk and he was on several boards serving in numerous positions.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, William, John and sister in law, Sandra

Surviving are his wife, Donna, children, Karen & (Robert) Wild of Ontonagon, Vicki & (Jeffrey) Seiter of Fowlerville, Thomas & Heather Isaacson of Milwaukee, WI, Christy & (Paul) Kilpela of Fowlerville, Amy Isaacson of Mohawk, Jay & (Jessica) Isaacson of Dassel, MN, Ken & (Amanda) Isaacson also of Dassel, MN, Alan Isaacson of Waukegan, IL, Brad Isaacson of Hancock, Kate & (Glenn) Kilpela of Cokato, MN, Judy, Aaron and Luke Isaacson all of Mohawk, one sister, Betty Lou & (Marvin) Berg of Laurium, sister in law, Edith Isaacson also of Laurium, twenty four grandchildren, Anders & Sofie Wild, Josh, Julianne, Brandon, Trisha, Katelyn, Alyssa and Linnea Seiter, Lyla Isaacson, Devin, Janessa, Aiden and Tanner Kilpela, Hans, Abby, Carolyn, Jana, Elliott and Clara Isaacson, Reagan, Avyana, and Kaelyn Isaacson, Kalina Kilpela and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.

The funeral service for Mr. Isaacson will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet with Pastor Richard Eskola officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 PM at the Church and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
