Obituary for Stanley Joseph Dyl

Stanley Joseph Dyl, 86, of Calumet, passed away March 31, 2015 at Up Health Marquette.

He was born February 6, 1929 in Buffalo, New York to his parents Paul and Marysia (Cipielewska) Dyl.

On April 26, 1952, he married the love of his life, Bettie Jane Wilson. She passed away on March 16, 2007.

Stanley was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army with the 339th T Harborcraft and Marine Maintenance Company from 1948 to 1952, including service during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant, having earned the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Service Stars and the Army of Occupation Medal with Japan Clasp.

After the war he worked for Ford Motor Company for 34 years in Dearborn, MI, and retired as a manager in 1986. In 1987 he and his wife moved to Calumet, to enjoy their retirement. He spent his time, working around the house; maintaining his yard and home.

He loved his grandkids, and spending quality time with all of them.

Stanley is preceded in death by his Wife, Bettie; his Parents, Paul and Marysia; Brothers, Paul, Joseph, Edward, Henry and Raymond; and Sister, Florence.

He is survived by:
His sons: Stanley Joseph Dyl II of Chicago, IL; Frank (Jean) Dyl of Calumet
3 grandchildren: Olivia, Pamela, and Daniel
Sisters: Dolores Szratter of Buffalo, NY; and Anne Witulski of Buffalo, NY
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins

A visitation will be held at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday April 4, 2015 at 10:00 to 11:00 am. With a memorial service at 11:00 am with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate.
