Obituary for Loretta Joyce Finley (Brusso)

Loretta Finley, age 85, a resident of Laurium passed away on Thursday March 17, 2016 at the Omega House in Houghton.
She was born November 10, 1930 to Dominic and Lucille (Krug) Brusso in Hubbell, Michigan.
Loretta graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1949. After high school she went on to graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing.
On June 12, 1954 she was united in marriage to Max Finley at St. Paul Lutheran church in Laurium.
Loretta worked as a nurse for many years eventually retiring from Calumet Public Hospital. After retirement she would help out doing home health and hospice care.
Loretta was first and foremost a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She was an exceptional caregiver whether it was doing her job as a nurse or taking care of her friends and family. Loretta enjoyed volunteering at the church; arranging for the flowers and running the kitchen. She loved to attend Club Indigo events at the Calumet Theatre, and enjoyed going out for free popcorn and a glass of wine at Rocky’s. She was active member of three different Red Hat Society groups. She loved to travel, and went on numerous trips down to Florida, and would also take many weekend trips to see her boys in Sheboygan. Loretta loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. When she wasn’t busy with everything else she would enjoy quilting and picking berries.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Max, brother Gary, grandson Nick, niece Dianne Beck, nephews, Jay and Jeff Brusso.
She is survived by:

Dallas (Vi) Brusso of Ontonagon
Grandchildren: Brian (Genevieve) Nordmark, Rebecca Nordmark (Terry Pierce), Sara Finley, Chris Hoganson, Thomas Hoganson, Heather Knight, Tia (Joey) Harville, Joey Knight, Carmen (Eric) Thimmig, Abby Finley (Robert Bocook)
Step grandson: Tim Vugrinovich
And numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday March 20, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday March 21, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Laurium.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday March 21, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Laurium, with Pastor James Fundum to officiate.
Spring burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
