Obituary for Nickolas George Peterson

Copper City

Nickolas G. Peterson, 39, a resident of Copper City passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Copper City.

He was born on December 29, 1978, in Laurium to Gordon and June (Rost) Peterson.

He attended Calumet High School.

In his younger years, Nick worked at Erkkilas Auto, Slims Restaurant and at the Country House bussing tables.

He was currently employed at Mohawk Sand & Gravel and previously worked at Ziemnick Excavating and as a logger for several area loggers.

Nick was a collector of old stuff: antique snowmobiles, Ford pick-ups, Willy’s Jeeps and all kinds of other “Junk”.

Nick enjoyed deer hunting and participating in the Camp Classic of the Keweenaw, 4 wheeling, mud bogging and running in the antique snowmobile rides

His biggest enjoyment was being with his family and friends, but mostly spending time with his daughters.

He was known for having a big heart and was always willing to help a friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and special friends: Brock Kipina and Darren King.

He is survived by: 3 Daughters: Breanna (Tristan Lorendo) Peterson of Mohawk

Amelia and Penelope of Calumet

Parents: Gordon and June Peterson of Copper City

Sister: Marie (Larry) Butala of Negaunee
Brother: Steven “Stosh” (Sherry) Peterson of Copper City

Nieces & Nephews: Tim (Lisa), Max and Eva, Jake (Nicole), Benji (Emily), Lexi and Hank, Bill (Shelbie), Jimmy (Brianna), Zoey and Thomas, Serena (Trenton) Ace and Steven.

Special Friends: Shawn Kump, Dave Hanson and Reid Rastello.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 4, 2018 from 4-7 PM in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet a funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
