Obituary for Pat David Peterson

Pat David  Peterson
Pat David Peterson, 75, a resident of Mohawk and formerly of Alston, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 17, 2017.
He was born on January 18, 1942 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Edward C. and Eva R. (LaJoie) Peterson.
Pat grew up in Alston and attended Baraga Township High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. He also attended Michigan Technological University and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering . Pat worked in various states as a boilermaker, in heavy mechanical and general construction, electronic systems repair and as an electrical engineer and systems consultant.
Pat was an avid rock and mineral collector and also crafted jewelry. He traveled to Arizona during the winter months, where he would attend rock and mineral shows. He also enjoyed exploring local rock piles with his metal detector. Pat was always one to tinker in the garage and as a skilled craftsman and certified welder, he had the mechanical expertise to repair anything, often fabricating his own parts. He was also a country music enthusiast and enjoyed attending the local country shows. Pat was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 107.
On December 2, 1961, Pat married Bonnie Lou Lantagne in Niagara, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Peterson and Eva Harju (LaJoie/Peterson) , two sons, Kevin Scott Peterson and Todd David Peterson, and his wife, Bonnie Lou Peterson.
He is survived by his daughters; Lolita Slafter of Racine, Wisconsin, Robin Peterson of Dollar Bay, Michigan and Ava (Michael) Defina of Severna Park, Maryland; brothers Dan Peterson of Racine, Wisconsin and Larry Peterson of Dearborn, Michigan; sister Anita McEwen of Alston, Michigan and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 12:30 pm at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet, with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate. Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday with visitation beginning at 11:00.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Saint Anthony Cemetery in Niagara, Wisconsin.
