Obituary for Ruth Mildred Salo

Ruth Mildred Salo, 89, a resident of PortagePointe passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2020.
She was born on November 8, 1931 in Hancock to Emil and Ida (Manninen) Salo. She attended the local schools, and graduated from Houghton High School with the Class of 1950. Following high school, Ruth began working for Michigan Bell in Detroit and Traverse City. She retired after 25 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Ida, 8 brothers; Matt, Sulo, Eli, Toivo, Henry, Edwin, John, and Paul, and her 3 sisters; Helen, Ilene, and Ida.
She is survived by her:
Sister-in-law: Fern Sprietzer of Houghton
And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Per Ruth’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in the spring.
Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
