Helen Baril, 88, a resident of Calumet passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2021 at Canal View – Houghton County.
She was born on November 6, 1932 in Calumet to Benhardt and Lempi (Lukima) Dextrom. She attended the local schools.
Helen worked at Calumet Housing as a janitor, retiring after 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benhardt and Lempi Dextrom, her brothers, Jack and Karl Dextrom, and her sisters, Ruth Laplander and Florence Korri.
She is survived by:
Her son: Robert Jarvela of Calumet
Her daughter: Carol Voldarski of Hancock
Her grandchildren: Tanya and Keli Voldarski
her great granddaughter: Kaitlyn Voldarski
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Wednesday March 17, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Wednesday March 17, 2021 with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate.
Burial will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
