Agnes Marie (Petitte) Chopp of Calumet, Michigan died on October 22, 2022, peacefully at the Omega House, in Houghton, Michigan. Agnes was born on September 8, 1922, in Calumet, Michigan to John and Pearl (Dlubala) Petitte.
Agnes was a loving wife and mother to her family. She married her husband Hubert Chopp on May 8th,1945 in Paris, Texas.
Agnes worked at AC Spark Plug in Flint, MI during WWII. She also worked at the old Calumet Public Hospital and the senior center in Laurium, MI.
Agnes loved to read, complete word puzzles, and watch football, baseball, and hockey.
Agnes is preceded in death by her husband Hubert Chopp and her parents John and Pearl Petitte. She is also preceded in death by her brother Frank, brother Lawrence, brother John, and sister Pearl.
Agnes is survived by her son Larry, and cousins Dominic (Mary) Chopp, Joseph (Jonah) Chopp, Donna Laverette, Mary Ann (Gary) Floue Chopp, Rose (Norman) Chopp-Harju, Paula Hartmann, Frankie (Dan) Bonner, Jack (Rosemary) Petitte, Rocko Petitte, Mario Petitte, and loving nieces and nephews.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A funeral mass for Agnes Chopp will be held at St. Paul the Apostle in Calumet on Thursday, October 27th at 11:00 am with Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate. A luncheon will follow the service. A visitation will be held at the Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM
