Preston (Buddy) L. Langley Jr. a resident of Centennial Heights passed away in his home on August 20, 2014.
He was born on August 17, 1934 in Pitt County, North Carolina, a son to Preston and Sallie (Lloyd) Langley. Preston grew up working on his parent’s farm.
For over 20 years Preston was in the Air Force until retirement.
On October 6, 1956 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Raudio in Woodland Location.
Preston loved the time he spent with his grandchildren. Preston had many hobbies but all revolved around his beloved grandchildren. He especially enjoyed collecting coins and picking all kinds of berries with or for them. Preston was always a sports enthusiast. He loved watching his children at their sporting events. When he was a young man he played fast pitch softball in the Air Force eventually switching to slow pitch. Later in life he enjoyed contributing to the local youth baseball, softball, and hockey teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Langley, sister Mary Retha Langston, and son Eric Langley.
Surviving are his Wife Marilyn Langley, brothers Henry and Jesse Langley, sisters Sallie and Mattie, son Lee (Annette) Langley, son Gary (Nancy) Langley, daughter Mary Lynn (John) Saurino, son Steven (Julie) Langley, daughter Carol (Marty) Peltier, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Christian Church on Monday September 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Hausman to officiate. A luncheon will follow the service.
