Margaret “Marge” Kontur, 74, a resident of Mohawk, passed away at her home on April 10, 2015.
She was born on October 31, 1940, in Dansville, Kentucky, to her parents, LaRue and Mary (Laswell) Curtis. She attended Lincoln Park High School and graduated in the spring of 1958. On December 27, 1958 she married her husband of 56 years, Daniel Kontur.
Marge worked as a nurses aid at St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe, MI. In September of 1993, she moved to the Copper Country. Locally, she worked for Century 21 and owned True North Antiques in Ahmeek until her retirement in 2012. She and Daniel have been enjoying their retirement together at Keweenaw Pines in Mohawk.
In her free time she loved cross-country skiing, fishing, and was a wonderful cook. But most of all, she enjoyed her time with her family, grandkids, and great grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Sally.

2 Daughters: Beth Kontur & Brad Madison of Superior, Wisconsin; and Kriste Kontur of Mohawk.

A funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet, with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate. A visitation will also be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 12:00.
