Darlene Hiltunen, 76, a resident of Ahmeek, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was born on November 21, 1938 to Allen and Margaret (Norum) Schmidlin in Laurium.
Darlene attended Calumet High School.
On June 30, 1956 Darlene married Jerome “Jerry” Hiltunen.
They resided in Royal Oak until 1987 when they returned to the Copper Country.
Darlene enjoyed her flowers around the house and working outside in her yard. She enjoyed going on trips to the casino with friends and family.
Darlene and Jerry loved to entertain family and friends over the years and they were known for their barbeques and hospitality.

Darlene is also survived by two very special best friends Brenda and Karen.
Private family services will be held in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate.
Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
