Florence L.  Leskinen (Linna)
Florence Leskinen, 93 a lifelong resident of Fulton passed away at the Omega House on Saturday morning October 3, 2015.

She was born on September 17, 1922 in Fulton, the daughter of John and Amanda Linna. She attended Mohawk and Calumet High School.

On May 1, 1942 she married the late Karl Leskinen, the love of her life.

Florence was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk. She was a lifelong member of the quilting organization at the church. Karl & Florence loved to cross country ski on the wooded trails in the Keweenaw. She skied her last time at the age of 88, on the Swedetown trails with her granddaughter Shelli.

She loved to organize picnics with the family, by various lakes & picnic areas.

Her great grandchildren will remember her from playing Ring Around the Rosie and sitting in the rocking chair with her singing Pium Paum Paukkaa.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Karl, her parents, 8 Brothers, and 3 sisters.

She is survived by:

Her daughter; Karen (George) Kargala of Calumet

Her Son; David (Candy) Leskinen of Fort Worth, Florida

4 grandchildren: Shelli Kargela, Kurt (Lydia) Kargela, Dennis (Patty) Kargela, and Heather Leskinen.

13 Great Grandchildren: Ariel, Karlie, Emma, Ainsley, and Ryder of Marquette. Megan(Reuben) Somero, Micah, Aaron, Amasai, Kenton, Klark, Kelvin, and Liahna from New Hampshire.

Also survived by 1 sister; Betty Allen of Minnesota

Sister-in-law Eva Johnson

And good friend and scrabble friend Eva Komula.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 10. 2015 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Saturday October 10, 2015 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk. Reverend Tim Johnston will officiate.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
