Ronald Suhonen, age 78, a resident of Rabbit Bay, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
He was born on March 4, 1937 in Mohawk to Victor and Mildred (Rajala) Suhonen.
He was a graduate of Calumet High School, graduating with the class of 1955.
After high school he entered into the military, serving 4 years in the Navy and 21 years in the Coast Guard.
In 1969 he married Charolette McCommins in Reno, Nevada.
Ron loved hunting, fishing and many other outdoor activities. He also loved to make casino trips.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Patricia, and his wife Charolette.
He is survived by children: Rodney (Mary) Suhonen of Capemay Courthouse, New Jersey, Judith (James) Permenter of Round Rock, Texas, Jill Suhonen-Madani of San Antonio, Texas and Billie (Dave) O’Neil of Little Rock, Arkansas
Brother: James (Kim) Suhonen of Lake Medora
Grandchildren: Ashlee, Rebecca, Samantha, Matthew, Cameron, Sean, and Adrian
Great-grandchildren: Taryn and Ian
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Ron will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Joe Eskola to officiate.
Burial will be held at the Jacobsville Cemetery.
